All About Izzy
Originally from Ireland, Isabelle (Izzy) relocated to Canada in 2017. Four ago Izzy and her partner got their first dog, a standard poodle called Quincy. During her initial training journey with Quincy, Izzy worked with an R+ trainer and navigated and overcame reactivity and anxiety-based behaviour with Quincy and from there her passion for dog training, specifically working with fearful dogs, was born.
As a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with a masters degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Izzy has been using the principles of behaviour and learning for the last 10 years so expanding her knowledge and skills to the canine world made a lot of sense. Izzy has worked with anxious and fearful dogs since February 2021 implementing training plans using the positive reinforcement and counterconditioning techniques.
Just like with the neurodivergent kids and their families she works with, Izzy is passionate about using positive reinforcement, fear/force-free and trauma-informed strategies to help dogs and their guardians live their best lives and to feel safe and listened to.
